The Fritter Shop’s history goes back to 1989 when Jacobus & Anja Van Rijn opened up Lieuwma Dutch Bakery in the heart of Downtown Amsterdam. It quickly became well-known for their high-quality pastries and neighbourly service. Fast forward many years later, after the Van Rijn family sold Lieuwma, and immigrated to Canada, bringing their proprietary & successful recipes with them.
Our family business values haven’t changed from what made us a huge success in Amsterdam. We carry an array of deliciously & authentic Dutch pastries that boast our proprietary Dutch custard recipe, our specialty pastry dough and mouth-watering sweet & savoury fillings.
